A safer way to pay manufacturers is coming.
Bazepay is planned and is not currently available. Bazepoint does not hold buyer funds, release payments in stages, provide escrow, protect payments or adjudicate disputes today. This page describes how we intend Bazepay to work so you can see where the product is going.
For now, you pay your manufacturer directly, on terms you agree with them. Sourcing is the part that works today: you submit a sourcing brief and Bazepoint sources manufacturer options against it.
Planned Bazepay flow: three stages

Would release as soon as you fund the order, so the manufacturer can purchase raw materials and start production.
Would release once you approve photo/video proof or a third-party inspection report of the finished production run, not before.
Would release only once the goods actually arrive at your door.

Where would my money sit?
Today, nowhere near Bazepoint: you pay your manufacturer directly and we never touch the money. The intention for Bazepay is that funded orders would sit with neither us nor the manufacturer, held by an automated contract rather than on Bazepoint's balance sheet, and released across the three stages above as you sign off on each milestone.
What happens if something goes wrong today?
Because you pay the manufacturer directly, recourse is whatever you agreed with them. Bazepoint cannot freeze funds, issue refunds or adjudicate a dispute, and we will not pretend otherwise. Holding back unreleased stages and reviewing evidence when a run misses agreed standards is part of the planned Bazepay design.
What will it cost?
Bazepay is still being designed and is not available yet. Pricing will be published once the payment and legal architecture is finalised. Today, sourcing is the only paid Bazepoint service: creating a sourcing brief is free, and a one-time fee covers Bazepoint sourcing manufacturer options against it.
Why cross-border fees should mostly disappear
The plan is for Bazepay to settle internationally in stablecoins (USDC), so an order would skip the wire fees and currency conversion markups a typical cross-border payment carries, without anyone touching crypto. You would pay and get paid in your normal currency from your normal bank account. None of this is running yet.
